に対する共同通信の歪曲報道への反論ーその３



共同通信社の歪曲報道に関して、一般財団法人「日本報道検証機構」が、ストークス氏に単独インタビューを行いそのショートバージョンをYouTubeで５月１７日に公開しました。

公共的な「日本報道検証機構」のインタビューですので、非常に価値の高いものです。

共同通信の歪曲、虚偽報道は明確となってきました。これでも謝罪がないということですと、法的な措置も必要かもしれません。

また、とても生臭く目撃者の記憶に残るものです。しかしながら・・・

日本軍による37年の行為の描写を見たり、街中での衝突の説明を聞いたりする限り

それは大虐殺というレベルに達していません。

ですから私は、日本軍によるいわゆる南京大虐殺はなかったと言ったのです。



こうした強い調子の文章をここ東京にいる私の同僚や友人たちは残念がるかもしれません。

しかし私の知る限り、実は大虐殺はなかったのです。

私が調べて文献によると、市内のあちこちで散発的な暴力行為はありました。

南京大虐殺という概念はもっと探究される必要があります。

それは間違いなく中華民国政府によるプロパガンダです。

これが最初の質問の答えです。ここはしっかり強調しておきます。

ストークス：他人の仕事への訂正要求は気が進みません。同じ会社の人は別として。

ただ共同通信の報道から感じるのは不正確というよりはむしろ・・・

彼らは真実の詳細に無頓着だったのです。無頓着だった。

彼らは、真実が何かには全く目を向けず、私や藤田氏をやっつけたがってばかりいました。

とても私たちを引き離したがっていました。彼らはとても攻撃的でした。なぜかは分かりません



この件で受けたインタビューのうち。今回が一番よかったです

None of the descriptions that I have seen

of Japanse troops in action in ’37,

none of these crushes in the streets

described by people eye witnesses

come up to the scale of a massacre.

So I’d say so-called Nanjing Massacre

by Japanse troops had never occurred.

It’s a strong statement which my colleagues

and friends here in Tokyo may deplore,

they regret it.

The fact is there’s not such thing

as a massacre as far as I’m concerned.

According to what I have read,

there was sporadic violence

here and there in the city.

This Nanjing Massacre idea needs more exploration.

It was certainly propaganda

of KMT government, most certainly.

『南京戦はあったが「南京虐殺」はなかった』

「南京の真実」国民運動編

皆様
　平成２４年２月、河村たかし名古屋市長は、姉妹都市である南京市との交流の中で、日中間に刺さったトゲともいうべき歴史認識に言及し、南京で日中間の戦闘はあったがいわゆる「南京事件」なるものはなかったのではないかと思うとの私見を述べ、この問題について討論したいと呼び掛けました。

　ところが、南京市は名古屋との姉妹都市交流を中断するとし、中国共産党は「必ず代償を払うことになる」（人民日報）と報復措置を示唆しました。

しかし、南京虐殺がなかったことは「日本『南京』学会」を中心とした過去十数年間の実証研究によって明らかになってきたことです。まして河村市長の発言は私見を押し付けたわけではなく、相互の討論を呼びかけたものです。それを封殺することは、自由な歴史研究と言論の自由を奪うことに他なりません。

　河村発言を支持する「南京の真実国民運動」が、「新しい歴史教科書をつくる会」を中心に同憂の団体が結集して結成されました。（代表：渡部昇一）「国民運動」は集会のほか、意見広告（２回）、署名運動、研究集会、パネル展など精力的に展開しました。１２月１３日（南京陥落７５周年）には、憲政記念館で大集会を開催しました。

There was a Battle of Nanking but There was no “Nanking Massacre”

In February, 2012, Nagoya city Mayor Kawamura Takashi stated that he personally believes that there was a battle fought between Japan and China but the so called “Nanking Incident” never took place, referring to the historical view, which is regarded as a thorn that prevents a normal relationship between the two countries, during a friendship exchange with visiting Chinese Communist Party leaders from the City of Nanking, the sister city of Nagoya. Mayor Kawamura also expressed his sincere hope for having mutual discussion over this issue.

However, the City of Nanking responded to Mayor Kawamura’s suggestion by announcing the discontinuation of the sister-city exchange program with Nagoya. Furthermore, the Chinese Communist Party hinted at taking retaliatory measures, saying that “Japan is sure to pay for it” in The People’s Daily.

In order to support Mayor Kawamura’s statement, a body called “People’s Campaign for the Truth of Nanking” was established by those who share the same concern as Mayor Kawamura. It developed strong campaigns including paid advertisement in news papers, public lectures, panel exhibitions, circulating bills. It also made a thorough study on the Nanking Incident collecting up-to-date research results and compiled them into a book titled There was a Battle of Nanking but there was no “Nanking Massacre”.

We are convinced if you read through the book you will realize that the so called “Nanking Massacre” is only a matter of propaganda, not a matter of fact. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
